New item to the collection

I just ordered me a die cast model of the Dale Earnhardt legends car that features Elvis on it. I am super excited about this. Dale and Elvis are for sure two of the coolest people to ever walk this earth. This will look great beside my Dale Jr die cast I have with Elvis on it.

Dale Earnhardt and Elvis to be on race car together

It has been announced that later this month a #3 race car will be introduced with Dale Earnhardt and Elvis both on it. It is part of the "Enduring Legends" series that has saw Earnhardt share a car before with Johnny Cash and John Wayne. The car with Elvis will be unveiled in Las Vegas where it will be in display through the Vegas race. At the first of March the car will be sent to Graceland to be displayed in the automobile museum where it will stay until April. Then the car will be sent to the home office of DEI for display. Collectible editions of this car will be available for purchase. I am very excited about this because I am a huge fan of the Earnhardt's and they are big fans of Elvis'. Dale Jr often speaks of his love for Elvis. It is going to be neat to see this car, hopefully I can make it out to Memphis to see the car in person. I will for sure be getting on the the collectible reproductions to put along with my Budweiser #8 Elvis themed car Dale Jr drove a few years ago.

GO GO GO ON THE SPEEDWAY!

As some of you might know, Dale Jr is my favorite drive in NASCAR. He finally got him a win this year breaking a long dry spell. He is now closing in on second in the points. Now that he has got one out of the way, expect him to win many more this year and contend for a championship. To honor him, I am going to watch one of his favorite Elvis movies tonight, Speedway.

Tony on live from Graceland

Tony Stewart was at Graceland in Memphis yesterday to do his radio show and be special host for Elvis radio channel 13 on Sirius. I was able to catch the first few minutes of the show and the last ten or fifteen minutes of the show. It seemed pretty cool. I wish I could have listened tho the whole thing. Stewart got to tour the house of course, but it was not his first trip to the house. It was his third time from what I understand. I came away thinking Tony was very good at show as well and would not mind hearing it if I had Sirius. Tony is pretty cool and did a great job. I understand he digs Elvis and they makes him even cooler. He still is not as cool as Junior though, no one is.

Cool picture of Dale in his Elvis suite from last year

I ran across this picture a little while ago. I thought it was pretty cool. Dale Jr is the coolest.
Dale was so close to a win last night but got spun out with a few laps to go and finished 15th. He is still holding down the third spot in points though which is good. Needs a win or two though because he would start a ways back if the chase started today because of a lack on wins.

Tony Stewart to air live from Graceland

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart will do his weekly radio show on SIRIUS live from Graceland on May 12. Tony has a serious car collection with over 40 vehicles. He is going to talk about all the stuff in the automobile museum at Graceland discussing Elvis' love of cars while playing some Elvis tunes. SIRIUS has an all Elvis channel and Tony will be a gust DJ on Elvis radio channal 13 then do his show afterwards that usually airs on channal 128. Tony is pretty key but I wish Dale Jr could do this seeing he is a real deal Elvis fan. Impossible though since he has a show on XM, and Tony plays in with the SIRIUS angle seeing he does a show for them already. Hopefully he does well and pays respect to Elvis. Maybe once they merge the two satellite providers, Junior can guest DJ sometime. That would be the coolest, and he would be entertaining to hear.

Coolest cup car ever

As you probably have figured out I am a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Last year he drove an Elvis themed car at Richmond last September. Jr has said it is one of his favorite schemas he has ever had since he is such an avid Elvis fan. The unveiled this car last year during EW at Graceland. Dale's grandmother, who is a big Elvis fan and got him into Elvis, was there as well. I ran across this picture last night and thought it was worth posting. Jr fan or not, you must admit this car is cool as all get out.

SPEEDWAY!

Tonight I have been watching the movie Speedway. Elvis would start filming the movie sometime in the middle of 1967 and would be released in the summer of 1968. This would be Elvis's twenty-seventh film. He played the part of a race car driver named Steve Grayson. He has a manager who he trust with all his money that is not very good had handling it. He in turns gets into trouble with the IRS. A agent comes to break the bad news and set them on a payment plan that leaves them strapped because the have such a huge debt to the government. Along the way Steve had tried to help out people in need, but his manager had got that stuff on credit. When the government came in, they took it all away from them. So Steve had to go win races to help not only himself and his manager but all the people he helped out. Along the way Steve falls for the female agent form the IRS who is played by Nancy Sinatra. In the end Steve wins a big race to help with the bills. As usual Elvis also get the beautiful girl. I really do enjoy this movie a great deal. The soundtrack has a few good songs on it as well. I would rate the the movie and soundtrack both middle of the road, but it is definitely worth owning and watching over and over again. Then again I think all Elvis movies are worth watching over and over. I also really enjoy Bill Bixby in the movie. He is really good and interacts with Elvis well. Of course I love Nancy Sinatra, she is great. peedway would gross about 3 million for the last part of 68 and rank #40 on the list of top grossing films. A little bit better then some of his later movie roles, especially for the amount of time it was out in theaters for the year. It is worth saying that this is Dale Jr's favorite movie along with Clambake. Now enjoy the Speedway trailer movie below then go watch this movie.

Junior update

I am a huge NASCAR fan. Certified Elvis freak Dale Earnhardt Jr started out with a top ten at Daytona before getting into a wreck that was not his fault at California that left him in 42nd place. He has made a huge climb the last two weeks with a second and third place finishes at Vegas and Atlanta. He has climbed back to sixth in points. The drivers head to Bristol this weekend where Dale has had success before.

Junior strikes again

Dale Jr wins the first Gatorade duel yesterday. He will start in the second row at Daytona on Sunday. I will be yelling and cheering him on in front of the TV while eating some chicken and drinking some beer. Its good to have NASCAR back.

HE'S BACK!!!

Dale finally got back in victory lane tonight winning the Budweiser shootout. It was a non points race. It was still good for him to get a win. He has been stuck driving junk the last few years and has had only a few wins. He is with the best team in Nascar now and ready to get back to winning four or five races a year like he had before. Talent+the best equipment=wins and lot of them. See Johnson and Gordon. JR is going to break out this year. Whats this got to do with Elvis you might say. Well JR is a huge Elvis fan and his grandmother is a self described Elvis freak so we can pump him up here on the site because of that. Also he is my favorite driver and I run this, so we are going to cover him from time to time.

Now I have had a few too many and I need to chill. Time to put in Spinout and get some rest.
